Aquesta Bank has announced positive earnings for the second quarter of 2010. It was Aquesta's seventh consecutive profitable quarter, with unaudited net income of $124,000, compared to $90,000 for same period in 2009.

For the six months ended June 30, net income was $349,000, a 38 percent increase from the $253,000 for the same period in 2009.

Net interest income for the second quarter was $1.70 million, compared to $1.35 million for 2009, an increase of 25.9 percent, despite an increase of only 4.9 percent in total assets.

The violin shop All Strings Attached celebrated the grand opening last week of its new location at 416-C S. Main St., Davidson, in the town's arts district.

The shop sells, rents and repairs violins, violas and cellos and a wide variety of accessories specific to the violin family of instruments.
