Cabarrus-Lake Norman Community Notes

Standard and Poor's Financial Services has raised Huntersville's credit rating from "AA+" to "AAA," its highest rating, which means the town has an "extremely strong capacity to meet financial commitments."

Last week Moody's Investors Service affirmed the town's "Aaa" rating, the highest Moody's issues, for bonds to be issued later this year and on previously issued debt.

The rating should reduce debt payments on capital projects and save interest costs for Huntersville taxpayers as the town builds to meet its infrastructure needs, Town Manager Greg Ferguson said in a statement.

Auditions will be 7-9 p.m. Aug. 9-10 for the Old Courthouse Theatre's production of "Harvey."
