Harrisburg

Rezoning change: The Harrisburg Town Council voted last week to approve an amendment to a town development ordinance that would add an "innovative development" option that would give developers more flexibility during the rezoning process. The council voted on the amendment at its July meeting, but did not reach the two-thirds approval that was necessary to make an amendment. Last week, the amendment required only a simple majority to pass when it came before the council for a re-vote. The amendment passed on a 4-3 vote, with council members Jeffrey Redfern, Rhonda Poppen and Bill Williams voting against the amendment.
