A.L. Brown star injured, sits game out

UNC commit Travis Riley, last year's South Piedmont Conference offensive player of the year, missed Friday's game against South Rowan after injuring his knee during A.L. Brown's opening game at Statesville. Riley rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries before being injured in the fourth quarter of the Aug. 20 game.

Riley rushed for 1,754 yards and 30 touchdowns last season. The team is awaiting medical results to determine Riley's future status.

Tiger coaches vote to stay in 3A conference

Mount Pleasant coaches voted last week 10-2 to stay in the 3A South Piedmont Conference. With 940 students, the school has 2A enrollment and could have decided to leave the SPC.
