Mount Pleasant dominates conference play

Mount Pleasant was 8-0 in the South Piedmont Conference after defeating Cox Mill in straight sets - 25-21, 25-19, 25-19 - last week.

The Tigers (12-1 overall) have dominated all year long, only losing to Carson last month. Going into yesterday's game at Northwest Cabarrus, they had only lost three sets in conference play - one to Concord, Jay M. Robinson and Hickory Ridge.

Coach Michelle Barrett's squad has been led by Karley Bowman, Kathryn Eudy, Katie Suther and Elizabeth Widenhouse this season.

Success is nothing new for the Mount Pleasant volleyball program, which has taken seven back-to-back conference titles and is in prime position to take another one.

The Tigers face Hickory Ridge, which is second in SPC volleyball standings, on Sept. 30 in Harrisburg.
