A1C Phillip Mallette
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Phillip Mallette has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Mallette completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Mallette, son of Rachel and Stephen Mallette of Concord, is a 2010 graduate of Hickory Ridge High School, Harrisburg.

Pfc. Wesley Walker
Army Reserve Pfc. Wesley Walker has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, Walker studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values and physical fitness.
He is the son of Gail Walker of Rocky River Road, Concord.
Cadet Elliot Smith
Elliot R. Smith has enlisted in the Air Force Obligated Reserve Section to participate in an ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) program with possible acceptance into the Professional Officer Course program.
Students in the Obligated Reserve Section are required to sign a contract, pass medical, moral, fitness and physical qualification exams for enlistment and contracting before receiving scholarship benefits. Cadets are selected based on grade-point average, unit commander evaluation and aptitude test scores.
Upon completing the ROTC program and college academic requirements, the cadet is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force.
The cadet is a student at UNCCharlotte.
He is the son of Eric and Sandra Smith of Mount Pleasant and a 2008 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
