Spaghetti dinner: Forest Hill United Methodist Church at 265 Union St. North in Concord holds their popular spaghetti dinner from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 1 and on the first Wednesday of each month. Just $6 ($3 for children 10 and younger) includes all-you-can-eat pasta with homemade meat sauce, bread, salad bar, and drink. For just $1 more, choose a dessert. Details: 704-782-1109.

Advent Lutheran Church, Charlotte

Hanging of the greens: Procession of the Chancel and Grace Alive choirs and the ringing of hand-bells. The sanctuary is adorned with traditional greenery and decorations and the congregation joins the choirs in carols. A portion of the service will explain these traditions.
