Festival of Trees

The Mariam Hayes Society will host the sixth annual Festival Of Trees over three days at the historic Concord Hotel. Tonight will begin with the "Deck the Halls Gala." Saturday's event "Christmas Around the World' includes a visit with Santa, crafts and holidays snacks. Sunday, all are welcome to a lunch surrounded by tree at the "Lunch Among the Trees" event. Festive Flapjack Fundraiser:

The Nutcracker

The Kannapolis Performing Arts Center will begin its run of The Nutcracker at 7 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $17; $12 for children younger than 18. Bowling For Food Tournament

The Rotary Club of North Mecklenburg will host its annual Bowling for Food Tournament 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Northcross Lanes, 16317 Statesville Road, Huntersville. Entry fee is $50 per team, with six bowlers per team. Each bowler is asked to bring $20 worth of canned, non-perishable food for a $20 Food Lion gift card as part of the North Meck Rotary's Christmas project.
