Send holiday cheer: Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County's Gift From the Heart holiday card program is under way. To participate, send a minimum donation of $5 per greeting card, along with names and addresses. Habitat will send cards to recipients or to you for personalization. Gang prevention funds: Up to $75,000 from the federal American Recovery Reinvestment Act is available through the Cabarrus County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council for gang prevention. Empty Stocking Fund: The Cooperative Christian Ministries and the Cannon Memorial YMCA are working to provide toys and assistance with heating costs for families who need assistance. Donations can be dropped off at any Cabarrus YMCA branch.

Concord

New Habitat house: Habitat Cabarrus is currently building its 125th home, sponsored by Wachovia, in the Magnolia Crossing subdivision in Concord. The house is on schedule to be completed in January.
