The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools District Magnet Fair will offer magnet programs information and an opportunity for parents to access online magnet lottery applications for the upcoming 2011-2012 year.

Cannon School students donated approximately 850 presents to local agencies during the school's "Project Wrap-In," an annual student-run community service event held Dec. 8.

During an all-school assembly, students gave the presents to representatives from four charitable organizations that provide underprivileged children with presents for the holidays. They are Big Brothers Big Sisters, Ada Jenkins Center, Children's Home Society and the Salvation Army.

Three Concord High School seniors received letters of congratulations on being Morehead-Cain Scholarship semi-finalists at UNC Chapel Hill.

Bryson Goolsby, Ellie Cochran and Onyema Nwanaji-Enwerem will progress into the next round of the scholarship competition.

Grace Covenant Academy invites prospective families to an open house for pre-K through fifth-grade students from 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Jan. 10.
