Harrisburg

Parking: Starting Jan. 1, the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office will issue parking citations for any parked vehicle on a Harrisburg street that leaves less than 22 feet of roadway for vehicular traffic. Problems encountered by emergency services spurred the enforcement. The Harrisburg Fire Department recently walked to a 911calldue to cars parked on the street, according to the town's website.

Contest winners: Fifteen participants in the Harrisburg Web Hunt were recognized at the Dec. 13 Town Council meeting. Winners of the town's contest were selected from those who correctly answered the 35 questions. Winners were Tracy Beauregard, Bart Borchardt, Andria Dale, Richard Furr, Tyler Gordon, David Haywood, Casey Hurst, Kim Lan Sim, Nicole Mattern, Rhonda Ritchie, Lisa Robinson, Robin Smith, Stephanie Viers, Jon Watts, Tina Watts. Five received $100 gift cards to Bloom. Ten received $25 gift cards to Bloom and prizes from local businesses.
