Bulldogs lead conference in Wachovia Cup

After the fall sports season, Jay M. Robinson leads the South Piedmont Conference with 270 points in the Wachovia Conference Cup standings. Concord is a close second with 267.5 points.

The cup is given to schools with the best overall athletic performances within their conference. Points are awarded based on how a team finishes its season.

The Bulldogs tied the Spiders for the league boys' soccer title. Robinson also won the boys' and girls' cross country title.

Concord also tied Cox Mill for the girls' tennis championship. The Chargers took the girls' golf title.

Cox Mill is third in the rankings with 257.5 points, followed by Hickory Ridge (247.5), Mount Pleasant (222.5), A.L. Brown (200), Northwest Cabarrus (175) and Central Cabarrus (85).
