Concord

Citizens academy: The City of Concord Communications, Fire and Life Safety, and Police Departments will host the Citizen Public Safety Academy. This course will allow citizens to learn about Concord's public safety departments, meet the staff and help evaluate the services. The 10-week academy will run Feb.14-April 18. Consecutive classes will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Monday. Class size is limited to 20. Applications available at www.ci.concord.nc.us or contact the Concord Police Department, 704-920-5000.

Nonprofits: "How To Start A Non-Profit Organization," will be held 5:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 and 9 a.m.-noon on Jan, 22 at the N.C. Crime stoppers: Officials are seeking information on a house burned in Bostwood Estates subdivision off Flowes Store Road. The fire occurred Nov. 21 at 6901 Clara Circle. Anyone with information can call 704-93-CRIME.
