13 Cabarrus agencies benefit from local foundation's grants

The Cabarrus County Community Foundation recently awarded $74,000 in grants to these 13 nonprofit organizations in the county:

$7,500 to Academic Learning Center for the ALC Afterschool Tutoring Program.

$10,000 to American Red Cross, Cabarrus County for emergency services.

$10,000 to Cabarrus Cooperative Christian Ministry for financial assistance to those in need.

$10,000 to Cabarrus Meals on Wheels for meal sponsorship.

$5,000 to Salvation Army for crisis assistance.

$6,000 to United Family Services for support of the Combating Violence against Women and Children Program.

$10,000 to Wings of Eagles Ranch for material and labor for the high ropes course.

A total of $15,000 was awarded from the Cabarrus County Community Foundation's Endowment Fund:

$2,500 to Boys and Girls Club of Cabarrus County for program supplies.

$5,000 to Cabarrus County Department of Aging for durable medical equipment and personal care supplies.

$2,500 to Cabarrus Partnership for Children for supplies and materials for dental health kits.

$1,000 to Communities in Schools of Cabarrus County to purchase books.

$2,000 to Junior Achievement of the Central Carolinas for program expansion into Cabarrus County.

$2,500 to Junior Charity League to purchase clothing and shoes for the Clothing Room.
