Concord

License Plate Agency: The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles is seeking applicants to operate a license plate agency in the Harrisburg area. The current contract is not being renewed due to personal reasons. The location at 4612 N.C. 49 will close June 14. Nearby agencies will continue services after the closure. Other agencies are at 929-D Concord Parkway S., Concord and at 1509 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Details concerning an application: 919-861-3332. Applications are due June 17.

Rotary Club: Assistant City Manager Merl Hamilton was named Distinguished Rotarian of the Year for 2011. Hamilton joined the club in 2003 and has served as chair of the Raffle Committee, in addition to other committees. Also, the club inducted three new members: Al Fleming, Greg Thompson and John Trey McMillan.

Meals on Wheels: Cabarrus Meals on Wheels is seeking volunteers to deliver meals to homebound residents throughout the county. Volunteer drivers are needed from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. one day a week or twice a month. Training is provided. Details: 704-932-3412.
