Jennifer Calvert and her family, of Concord, try to lead a life of community service by helping others.
"My husband and I do all we can to be good stewards of our money and help others as much as we can financially," she said in an email.
Calvert, a Lower School counselor at Cannon School, also organizes community service projects for her students. Through CharityBuzz.com, which auctions off trips, merchandise and celebrity encounters, Calvert found a way her family can support organizations around the world and have fun.
Through CharityBuzz, Calvert and her husband traveled to Pebble Beach to support a women's shelter and have more trips in the works.

"So, it's a win-win experience. I get to help a worthy organization, but at the same time, I get a really cool experience which I am all about," she said.
In April, Calvert won a bid for a one-on-one meet-and-greet with Olympic gold-medalist Kristi Yamaguchi in Raleigh. The experience benefited Figure Skating in Harlemwhich provides figure skating lessons for underprivileged children in New York, Calvert said."She spent an hour with me one on one while I asked questions about her skating career, 'Dancing with the Stars,' her children, etc," she said.
