The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A professional baseball affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, are partnering with Cooperative Christian Ministry in the Perdue "Step Up to the Plate" All-Star Challenge.
The challenge aims to help each South Atlantic League community in the fight against hunger. Each participating food bank that raises the equivalent of 5,000 meals in cooperation with its team will receive $1,000.
At every home game through June 12, the Intimidators will give a free popcorn voucher to every fan who brings three nonperishable food items to the stadium for the Perdue Challenge. On May 29, all fans who bring three nonperishable food items to the stadium will receive a free general admission ticket to the game.
Winners of the challenge will be announced at the league's 2011 All-Star Game June 21 in Salisbury, Md.

Volunteers are needed for four summer day camps at Wings of Eagles Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center for special-needs kids and adults.
