You are in a rush, so you make a quick stop for some fast food. A short visit to the drive-through window and you are on your way.
Do you ever wonder how all that food is made so fast?
At Chick-fil-A in the Afton Ridge (Target) shopping center, the staff wants to show you what really goes on behind the scenes.
So they're offering backstage tours.

"The Backstage Tour is designed to show guests the freshness of our products and some of the history of Chick-fil-A, as well as to introduce customers to our team members," said Ginny Hargette, restaurant marketing director for the restaurants at Concord Mills and Afton Ridge.
"Guests who participate ... will see the fresh lemons we use to make our hand-squeezed Chick-fil-A lemonade, the whole produce we use to prepare our salads each day, the hand-breading of our chicken, the way our award-winning drive-through works and more," Hargette said.
The tours are for both adults and kids, but don't worry about getting dirty: Everyone gets non-slip shoe covers before entering the kitchen.
All the kids who participate are surprised with a sweet treat at the end.
"We love our customers and wanted to open up our home and share what we're doing 'backstage' to serve them each day," Hargette said. The tours are mainly led by store operator Roland Mitchell, general manager Hal McCool and Hargette.
A lot of other activities are going on at the Afton Ridge Chick-fil-A. Last month, in honor of Mother's Day, the restaurant held a "Mommy and Son Date Night," and just last week was a "Daddy and Daughter Date Night."
Hargette updated me on other events coming up.
"We are offering a summer promotion called Milkshake Mondays. Buy a large milkshake and receive a free spicy or original Chick-fil-A sandwich," she said. The promotion runs 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays in June, July and August, only at the Afton Ridge and Concord Mills restaurants.
A Fire Safety Event and Cow Appreciation Day will be 5-7 p.m. July 8. Meet a firefighter and climb into the fire engine. "If you dress like a cow you will get a free meal," Hargette said.
Hargette hopes to continue hosting the free Backstage Tours throughout summer and into fall. Tours are at 9 and 9:30 a.m. 3 and 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays.
