East Coast Wings opens Mooresville restaurant

East Coast Wings & Grill, an N.C.-based chain known for its 75 flavors and 675 combinations of Buffalo-style wings, opened recently in the Morrison Plantation (Harris Teeter) development at Brawley School Road and Williamson Road.

Founded in Winston-Salem in 1995, East Coast Wings also serves subs and other sandwiches, burgers, sliders, salads, appetizers, quesadillas, soups and chili.

East Coast Wings has won numerous "best wings" awards in the Winston-Salem and High Point area and two national awards at the 2010 National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, N.Y. It won first place at the national festival for traditional hot sauce and second place in the "creative spicy" category for its Santa Fe Inferno sauce.

New Market Street entrance for Carm's Café

Patrons can now access Carm's Café, 42-B Union St. S., via its new rear entrance.

Two-hour parking is available on Market Street, as well as the lower parking lot on Spring Street behind the police department, where parking is free all day.

Si Señor, a Mexican restaurant in the former Cartucci's Italian Restaurant space in the Mooresville Town Square retail center.

Jeffrey's offers July specials

Jeffrey's Restaurant, in the Mooresville Gateway center at Interstate 77 Exit 33, will offer family specials on Saturdays in July, including $1.99 off the children's menu and a "Saturday comfort plate" for $10.99.

Tenders to host Great Dane Rescue benefit

Tenders Fresh Food restaurant, 18341 Statesville Road (U.S. 21), will host a benefit for Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas noon-9 p.m. today.

Local celebrities tend bar at Alton's

Charlotte Bobcats head coach Paul Silas competed against Cornelius Mayor Jeff Tarte and other local notables for the title of "Mixologist Extraordinaire" June 16 at Alton's Kitchen & Cocktails, 19918 North Cove Road, in the Jetton Village retail center.

The celebrity bartenders were competing to see who could raise the most money in sales and gratuities during their scheduled one-hour time slots. The money goes to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte and Big Day at the Lake 7, scheduled for July 16 on Lake Norman.
