Mount Pleasant High

FFA Vice President: Katie Cauthen, a 2011 graduate, was elected State Future Farmers of America Vice President at the organization's convention. Cauthen will serve the one-year term as an ambassador for youth, agriculture and education. Cauthen will attend N.C. State University this fall to major in agricultural education.

BB&T Scholarships

The Bill of Rights Institute: BB&T provided scholarships for two high school students to attend the Constitutional Academy. Abigail Brown, a rising senior at Cox Mill High will attend the academy for high school students to study the Constitution. The academy is a five-week program that culminates in a weeklong residential program in Washington, D.C.
