Natural foods retailer Earth Fare opened its ninth N.C. grocery store on Wednesday off Interstate 77 Exit 23 in Huntersville.

Earth Fare sells local and farm-fresh organic fruits and vegetables and ready-to-go meals. It has full-service meat, poultry and seafood departments and a bakery.

Earth Fare is also known for what it doesn't offer: products with high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, artificial colors and sweeteners, and antibiotics and synthetic growth hormones in meat and milk.

The Huntersville store opened at 14021 Boren St., off Gilead Road between Reese Boulevard and McCoy Road.

Roush Yates Performance Products recently opened a 40,000-square-foot showroom/retail store at 122 Knob Hill Road, Mooresville.

Products are available for race cars that run at circle tracks and drag strips, as well as for personal, off-track cars. Roush Yates race team apparel is also available.

Jill and Bill Bogage celebrated the opening Thursday of their Mooresville-based Interim HealthCare franchise, which provides home care services in Iredell, Rowan, Alexander and Stanly counties.

Lake Norman-area Verizon Wireless stores are accepting new school supplies through Aug. 15 for local children in need.

The stores are accepting donated No. 2 pencils, marker pens, colored pencils, plastic rulers, spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks, white glue, dry-erase markers, pocket folders, construction paper, pencil bags, erasers, index cards and children's scissors.

Items will be donated to local nonprofit agencies for distribution to students in need.
