The Kannapolis Intimidators Class A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox drew a franchise record 138,487 fans to Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium this year. The organization averaged 2,067 fans per game, also the highest average attendance for the franchise.

The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has given municipalities the chance to participate in an extended urban archery deer season to help control the deer population. The season will run Jan. 8-Feb. 12. Troutman has elected to participate in this program. All hunting must be on private land and will require written permission from the owner. Big Foam Finger & the Fidgets will perform the final 2011 Friday After Five Summer Concert from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday on West Broad Street between Kelly and Mulberry streets, in front of Mitchell Community College.
