The Cabarrus Art Guild is seeking high school artists to submit works for its juried Cabarrus County Student Art Show, Oct. 9-28 at the Guild's Brick Wall Gallery at the Depot at Gibson Mill, 325 McGill Ave., suite 250, Concord.

Each school may enter up to 10 original artworks from 11th- or 12th-graders. Artworks must be delivered to the gallery by Oct. 1.

Wags & Whiskers: A fundraiser for Humane Society of Concord & Greater Cabarrus County, the Wags & Whiskers Charity Silent Auction, will be 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the Harrisburg Lions Club, with a dessert and coffee buffet. Satiric comedy: The Old Courthouse Theatre will perform Clare Booth Luce's "The Women" starting Sept. 29 at the theater, 49 Spring St. N.W., Concord.
