Christmas is coming: Kannapolis Parks & Recreation Department is seeking area vendors, choirs, bands, dance groups, nonprofit groups and others for its second annual holiday festival, "A Kannapolis Christmas," scheduled for 2-9:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Village Park. Celebrate local food: A "Friends of the Market Harvest Gala" will be 5-8 p.m. Oct. 20 in Kannapolis' Cannon Village. Buy tickets at www.piedmont-farmersmarket.com/harvest_gala. The event will include live music, an auction, an iron chef competition, wine and craft beer. The Piedmont Farmers Market will unveil its new indoor farmers market from 3 to 5 p.m. before the gala.
