Halloween happenings

The following events are planned to celebrate fall and Halloween:

Pumpkin Carving Contest: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, 202 S. Main St., Davidson. 704 892-0604.

The Great Pumpkin Patch for Missions: Hosted daily through Oct. 31 by youth of Davidson United Methodist Church in front of the chapel and the Molly McKay Youth House on Main Street. Noon-8 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekends. Pumpkins of all sizes, decorative corn, gourds and baked goods for sale.
