Green drinks: Dakeita Vanderburg-Johnson, chairwoman of the Cabarrus Sustainability Council, will speak at a meeting of Concord Green Drinks from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway, U.S. 29 at Bruton Smith Boulevard. The social gathering is for anyone interested in learning about sustainability, recycling, reuse, reduction, environmental improvements and more. Admission is free.
Auditions: The Old Courthouse Theatre will have auditions Dec. 5-6 for its February production of "To Kill a Mockingbird." Registration is 7-8 p.m. both days. at the theater, 49 Spring St. N.W., Concord.

Tree lighting: Activities for Concord's tree lighting will begin 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18. Fireworks will be at 7:30 p.m.
Art Walk: Art will be exhibited in downtown galleries and shops during the Cabarrus Arts Council's Art Walk 6-9 p.m. Nov. 18 in Concord. You can meet artists, and there will be entertainment and refreshments. The Arts Council Galleries' "Handle with Care" and "Shop Seagrove" exhibitions will be featured.

Town changes: The Harrisburg Town Council Oct. 29 named Finance Director Lee Connor, Public Works Director Todd Taylor and council member Chad Baucom to share interim town administrator responsibilities, after the council declined to renew the former administrator's contract. Each will oversee specific town departments.
