As part of the national Scouting for Food effort, Boy Scout Troop 171 and Cub Scout Pack 171 collected at least 2,400 pounds of food for the Mooresville Soup Kitchen on Nov. 19.
The Cub Scouts collected food donations from Mooresville residents and delivered the food to Williamson's Chapel United Methodist Church, where the Boy Scouts worked with the Cub Scouts to unpack, sort and box the food.
At least 25 Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and adult volunteers delivered the food and weighed it in at the soup kitchen. Joe Marusak
