The city's Wastewater Resources Department recently received its first N.C. Collection System of the Year Award from the N.C. American Water Works Association and N.C. Water Environment Association for going beyond what the state requires to protect the public health and environment. Details: www.concordnc.gov.

Troutman's first annual Community Christmas Celebration, featuring special holiday music, will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Troutman Middle School Gym.
