Students donated more than 800 new gifts for underprivileged children during the school's annual Project Wrap-In.

The students presented the wrapped gifts to representatives of 5 nonprofits for distribution to local children. Student coordinators were Emily Anderson, Tyler Carsen, Tory Foster, Bruna Liborio, Lucie Randall, Tias Sen, and Vanessa Vaccaro, assisted by Haley Todd, learning coordinator.

Hickory Ridge High: The bands collected over 100 toys for Operation Toy Drop, a philanthropic project in which Ft. Bragg paratroopers distribute toys to underprivileged children and social service agencies.

Band members delivered the toys to Ft. Bragg on Dec. 9 to observe the 1,800 paratroopers jump event, a non-tactical airborne operation for which participants earn foreign jump wings. The students were taught on-board airborne operations protocol and learned chute recovery techniques under Jumpmaster supervision.
