Antiques appraisal, moving sale: The Concord Museum, 11 Union St. S., Suite 104, plans two events on the same weekend:

At an Antiques & Collectibles Appraisal, discover the value of your keepsakes (no jewelry). $10 per item appraised; proceeds go to the museum. Appraisals by Michael Hansen.

The museum's moving sale will offer vintage books, local history books and prints, regional collectibles, office furniture and display cases.

Both events will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 23-24. Details: 704-782-3688.

Youth Art Month: Concord will celebrate Youth Art Month with the Cabarrus County Schools' Youth Art Month exhibit throughout March at the school system's Education Center, on Old Airport Road, near the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. A reception is scheduled for March 25.

Become a literacy tutor: The Cabarrus Literacy Council will conduct literacy tutor training 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 24 at the Concord main library. Participants will be instructed on the adult learner, the Laubach Way of Reading, and tutor resources and procedures. Registration or details: literacy@cabarruscounty.us or 704-920-2223.

Free film: The Modern Film Fest at the Davis series will offer a free screening of "Catching Dreams" at 9 p.m. March 30 in the Davis Theatre, 65 Union St. S. The documentary chronicles the eight-year journey of a one-time Olympic hopeful to become part of the Cirque du Soleil.
