Cabarrus County Schools

Financial Aid Night: 6:30-7:45 p.m. Jan. 26, Hamrick Theater, Carolinas Medical Center–NorthEast, 920 Church St. N., Concord. High school juniors and seniors and their parents may come to learn about the FAFSA and the financial aid application process.

Weddington Hills Elementary

Open house: An open house for prospective families will be 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 21. It will begin with a presentation in the school cafeteria, followed by tours of the campus.

C.C. Griffin Middle

Sports tryouts: Tryouts for rising seventh- and eighth-graders for baseball, volleyball and girls’ and boys’ soccer will begin March 5. Pre-season skill-development sessions for soccer begin Jan. 20. Concord Middle

Angel Tree: Concord Middle’s 2014 Angel Tree program served 46 students this holiday season, including siblings that attend elementary and high school. In addition, 22 students were adopted and supported through the holidays through the school’s Empty Stocking Fund.

Early College High

Applications: Students wishing to enter ninth grade in 2015-16 at Early College High School may apply through Jan. 30. Applications are available at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/earlycollege and must be turned in to the student’s middle school guidance counselor.

Rowan-Salisbury Schools

Parent survey: Through an online survey, the Rowan-Salisbury Schools system is gathering feedback from parents of children attending its schools. The information will be used to guide the system’s decisions. Responses will be anonymous. The survey can be found at www.advanc-ed.org/survey/public/5226459.
