Muslim Women of Carolinas plan Pre-Ramadan Dinner
The Muslim Women of the Carolinas will host a free Pre-Ramadan Dinner 5:30 p.m. Aug. 17 in the multipurpose room of the Islamic Society of Greater Charlotte, 7025 The Plaza.
Women of all faiths are invited to learn about the Islamic month of Ramadan and experience the diversity of cultures in the Muslim community.

Counselors invited to open house and talk Sept. 4
Central Church Life Care Center, 5500 Randolph Road, will host an open house counselor coffee break 9-11 a.m. Sept. 4.
Sidney Langston, director of El Rophe Counseling Center, will speak about “The Connection between Mental Illness and Spiritual Oppression.”

Special musical ministry at St. Paul UMC
St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2830 Dorchester Place, will host the musical ministry of A.G. and Kate from Holland during the 10:30 a.m. Aug. 24 worship service.
University City UMC hosts patriotic music program
University City United Methodist Church, 3835 W. W.T. Harris Blvd., will present “God Bless America Once More,” a patriotic musical celebrating God's blessings on America, 2:30 p.m. Sept. 7. The performance will be narrated by Glenn Blafield, and include the church's celebration choir, orchestra, youth choir, children's ensemble and soloists. There will also be a color guard with special presentations by active and retired military and civil service personnel.

St. Matthew Catholic invites adults to coffee house
St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, invites adults to its Christian Coffee House 7:30-9:30 p.m. Sept. 6. The program will include spiritual messages, live Christian contemporary music, snacks and drinks by candlelight.

Seventh-day Adventists hosting Bible conference
Northeast Seventh-day Adventist Church, 827 Tom Hunter Road, is hosting its 19-day “Revealed Word Bible Conference” through Aug. 23. The conference began Aug. 2 and meets 7 p.m. each day except Thursdays.
