A woman was injured Thursday night in a drive-by shooting on Albemarle Road in east Charlotte.
It appears as if the shooting was a random act.

The incident happened around midnight, in the 6000 block of Albemarle Road, between Central Avenue and Farm Pond Lane. Police say the woman was shot in the hip and contacted police, who found the suspects' car a short time later. One suspect was arrested.
Several Charlotte TV stations are reporting that injured woman was among several people riding in the car. The victim pulled into a restaurant parking lot near Albemarle and Sharon-Amity roads, according to those reports. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
The area near Farm Pond Lane and Albemarle Road – a prime residential area two decades ago – has been identified by police as being among the worst crime spots in Charlotte.
Community leaders in east Charlotte say the large amount of rental housing and apartments in the area have helped attract a significant amount of criminal activity.
