Blue Basil coming to Cotswold

Italian-themed panini and sandwich café Blue Basil is moving to Cotswold Village Shops into the space formerly occupied by Bear Rock Cafe.

Blue Basil, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2009, will feature muffins, bagels and sandwiches for breakfast and paninis, soups and wraps for lunch and dinner. The 3,500-square-foot Tuscan-themed eatery will also feature pastries and other desserts.

Cotswold Village Shops is at the corner of Sharon Amity and Randolph Roads.



SouthPark mall's outdoor shopping development, Village at SouthPark, is holding live music events every Wednesday until Nov. 19.

“Wineday Wednesdays” features live music and wine tastings 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Village at SouthPark is at 4400 Sharon Road, behind Crate & Barrel.



O'Reilly Auto Parts recently opened a new store at 7015 South Boulevard, near the Starmount neighborhood. As part of the grand opening, store manager Rocky Koua presented the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte with a $200 donation. Grand opening events such as drawings and giveaways will be held at the store through Oct. 7.
