Dr. Gaa Richardson has joined the medical staff of Frye Regional Medical Center. She received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the St. Louis University Health Sciences Center, where she also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology.

Richardson is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Lori Cooper Jenkins has joined the staff of Jenkins Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Newton. She and her husband, Carl Jenkins, own the funeral home where she had been employed on a limited basis while she worked as an insurance agent.

The family opened the funeral home in 2004. Lori Jenkins had worked for the Herman and Bolick Nationwide Insurance agency in Conover and for several years with Countywide Insurance Agency in Claremont.

She is a 1983 graduate of Fred T. Foard High School and attended Caldwell Community College and Catawba Valley Community College.
