Julie Dickison has joined Frye Regional Medical Center's surgical weight loss team as the program's clinical and health psychologist. She comes to Frye with 10 years of experience in health psychology.
Dickison received her bachelor's in psychology from the University of Oklahoma and her master's in social psychology from UNC Chapel Hill.
In her new role, Dickison will provide increased pre-surgical education and will offer progress groups and guidance for patients after surgery.

Realtors from Keller-Williams Realty Inc. and members of the service group “Etc…” helped build houses in Habitat for Humanity of Catawba Valley's Blue Sky Acres in Hickory.
Volunteers built two storage sheds for new homeowners. The group also donated money to support the organization's mission to provide safe, decent housing to low-income families.
