Business owners interested in pulling ahead of the pack may benefit from a series of seminars sponsored by the Small Business Center at Catawba Valley Community College.

The “Grow It” series provides weekly gatherings to talk business benefits, held at locations across Catawba and Alexander counties.

The next seminar, “Doing Business with Uncle Sam,” and will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Catawba County Main Library.

Do you think your business has a product or service the government could use, but you don't know where to start? Wanda Robinson will lead an information-packed workshop on ways to figure out what the federal government needs and how to turn it into a paying customer.

The library is at 115 West C St. in Newton.

Registration for truck driver training classes is under way through Catawba Valley Community College.

Weekend classes – Friday nights and all day Saturday and Sunday – begin Oct. 10 You must register by Oct. 9.

Classroom and on-the-road sessions are included.
