The certification is the healthcare industry’s foremost certification for the risk management professional with prerequisites including at least 3,000 hours of experience in healthcare risk management and an advanced degree.
The principal duties of the healthcare risk management professional include the prevention, reduction, and control of loss to the healthcare organization, its patients, visitors, employees, volunteers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities and duties may also include incident investigation, tracking and analysis, trending and evaluation, claims and risk financing management.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced the names of approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
