Several Mooresville gymnasts have won championships at the 2015 N.C. Level 6-10 State Meet in March in Wilmington.

Level 8 gymnasts Victoria Bonham and Madison Malec, both Mount Mourne IB students, took first-place all-around titles. Malec also earned gold in the floor exercise, and Bonham won the uneven bars and balance beam.

Bonham and Malec both train at Kristie Phillips Athletic Center.

Their teammates won five other state titles: Kara Hill on floor, Jordan Ellis on balance beam and Grace Malec on the uneven bars and floor.

South Iredell High senior Samantha Cerio won gold on uneven bars in Level 10, her 12th state championship. She will compete for Auburn next year.

KPAC’s Alexandria Bonham was chosen to compete for the Level 7 state team at the regional meet in April.
