Stephen Bennett performs: Master harp guitarist Stephen Bennett will perform at 7 p.m. June 21 at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 164 Fairview Road, Mooresville as part of the Solas Leighis concert series.

A gifted musician and composer, Bennett has been called “the Jedi Master of Fingerstyle Guitar” by the Toronto Fingerstyle Guitar Association. He performs on his great-grandfather’s harp guitar, a 1930 National resonator guitar and a standard six-string.

Swim lessons: The Mooresville Recreation Department will offer swim lessons for ages 1 to adult at War Memorial Pool on Maple Street this summer.

New fitness sessions: Cornelius PARC will offer several new fitness sessions beginning in late June and July. The schedule includes:

Couch-to-5K: Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning June 22.

Boot Camp: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings or evenings, starting June 22.

Senior Fit Club: Tuesday and Thursday mornings, beginning June 23.

Tai Chi: Thursday mornings, starting July 9 or Saturday mornings, beginning July 11.

Cardio Funk: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays at Bailey Road Recreation Center or 9-10 a.m. Saturdays at JV Washam Recreation Center. Drop-in cost is $5.

PiYo: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Bailey Road Recreation Center. Drop-in cost is $5.

Paddleboarding, yoga class: Cornelius PARC will offer Stand Up Paddleboarding 3:30-5:30 p.m. June 27 at My Aloha on Lake Norman. The class is open to ages 8 through adult. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $35 residents, $40 non-residents.

A new Stand Up Paddleboard Yoga class will be held 5:45-7 p.m. June 27 at My Aloha, with more dates planned in July and August. Previous Stand Up Paddleboarding experience is required. Cost is $28 residents, $32 non-residents.

Symphony in the Park: Bring your picnic baskets and blankets for Symphony in the Park with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra on June 27 at Bailey Road Park, 11536 Bailey Road.

Gates open 6 p.m. with children’s activities and concessions by D9 Brewing Co., Tenders, Kona Ice, Bruster’s Ice Cream and Nathan’s Hot Dogs. Beer and wine proceeds will benefit the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists.

Journey Church will perform a prelude beginning 6:45 p.m., followed by the symphony at 8:15 p.m. Fireworks will follow the show.

Admission is free. Parking is available in the park and at Bailey Middle and Hough High schools, with free shuttle service starting 6 p.m. Coolers are welcome, but no glass containers or bottles, pets, tents or open flames. Horse show: The Carolina Welsh Club will host its Summer Silver Show Series I and Series II July 27-28 at Latta Park Equestrian Center, 6201 Sample Road in Huntersville.

Comedy auditions: Davidson Community Players will hold open auditions for the upcoming comedy, “Don’t Cry for Me, Margaret Mitchell,” at 7 p.m. June 28-29 at Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

Participants should plan to come for one audition night and stay for the entire session. Bring a resume and list of contact information, theatre experience, a recent photo and list of conflicts. Rehearsals for the Oct. 1-18 production begin in late August. No prior acting experience is required.

Set in 1939, the comedy follows three sleep-deprived men and their loyal secretary as they re-write the script of the American classic, “Gone With the Wind,” in three days. Age ranges are 30s to early 50s.

Art exhibit: “Beyond Walls,” the town of Cornelius’s first public art exhibition, will be displayed through Nov. 17 at Robbins Park. The exhibit features public art from nine regional artists selected by the Public Art Committee.

Featured artists are: Paris Alexander, Bob Doster, Jim Gallucci, Aisling Millar McDonald, Harry McDaniel, Rich Nossel, Virginia Scotchie, Adam Walls and Jim Weitzel.

Special needs bowling: Cornelius PARC will offer a Bowling Night for Special Needs Adults 7-8:30 p.m. June 19 at Spare Time at Lake Norman. The outing is open to ages 16 and older.

Mainstream Boutique opens: Mainstream Boutique, a women’s clothing and accessories shop, opened June 4 in Mooresville Town Square.

Owners Anitra and Brad Mitchell and Charlotte Paris also own Mainstream Boutique in Winston-Salem. The boutique carries sizes from XS to 3X in its 1,400-square-foot location at 126 Mooresville Commons Way, Suite C.

Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.
