Mooresville Graded School District

Laptop deployment: Mooresville Graded School District will hand out laptop computers to rising fourth- through 12th-grade students 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Aug. 17-19 and 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Mooresville High School Magnolia Campus, 160. S. Magnolia St. Suggested attendance times have been set up alphabetically by last names and school to minimize wait times. However, families may come by at any time during the sessions. Families with multiple children may attend the deployment at the same time. A $50 usage fee is required. To reduce wait time at the deployment, families may pay the fee in advance online and bring the receipt to the deployment. Students must attend with a parent or guardian, and students must bring their school-issued book bags to receive a laptop. Students who do not have a book bag must buy a new one for $45 in order to receive their laptop. Rising fourth-graders and new students will receive a new book bag. Open house: 4-6 p.m. Aug. 20

Mooresville Middle

Open house: Open house will be 5-6:30 p.m. for seventh-graders, 7-8 p.m. for eighth-graders, both on Aug. 20.

Brawley Middle

Volleyball tryouts: Volleyball tryouts will be held 3:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 24-26. Open gym will be 3:30-5 p.m. Aug. 19-20.

Lakeshore Middle

Cheerleading tryouts: Lakeshore Middle has a new cheerleading program with a new coach, Kathryn Gaus. Tryouts for the squad will be held 3:30-5:30 p.m. Aug. 24-25 in the auxiliary gym.
