Iredell County Transition & Informational Fair: Mooresville Graded School District is collaborating with Iredell Statesville Schools to present Iredell County Transition & Informational Fair 4-8 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Statesville Civic Center, 300 S. Center St., Statesville. The fair is designed for youth ages 11-21, families, special educators and specialists in Iredell County. The fair is intended to provide information about resources and services available in the community for students with disabilities preparing for post-school success. Exhibitors will include local colleges as well as vocational rehab, mental health and legal services addressing financial options, transportation services and recreational opportunities. Spirit Night: Spirit Night is 5-8 p.m. Oct. 26, at Chick-fil-A, 457 River Highway, Mooresville. A portion of proceeds from meals bought that evening will be donated to the school. Families are encouraged to wear the school colors.
Lake Norman Elementary
New breakfast option: The cafeteria is now offering a new breakfast item, the Snack Pack. Snack Packs will consist of a Pop Tart, cereal pouches, cheese crackers, a cheese stick, yogurt and fruit or fruit juice. Milk is also available. Snack Packs can be eaten in the cafeteria or taken to the classroom. It can also be used as morning snack in class. Students receiving reduced lunch qualify for free breakfast. Science Fair: Science Fair projects are due by 8 a.m. Oct. 28 in the media center. The Science Fair Parent Night takes place 4-6 p.m. Oct. 28.
Woodland Heights Elementary
Teacher assistants: Woodland Heights Elementary is hiring teacher assistants. Qualified applicants must have at least a two-year college degree and must be willing to earn a commercial driver’s license. Fundraising: The Lakeshore Middle School Student Council collected $600 recently during a dress-down day in support of South Iredell High School. The PTO matched the amount with a donation of $500, and an anonymous donation from a parent brought the total to $1,600, which will be donated to the SIHS Band Boosters.
Winter Cheer tryouts: Five spots are available for the Winter Cheer squad. Tryouts are 3:30-5:30 p.m. Nov. 2-3 in the cafeteria. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on Nov. 4. For details, visit www.iss.k12.nc.us/Domain/387.

Band donations: The Band Boosters are still collecting donations for the Band Assistance Fund. Donations will be given to the South Iredell and North Iredell High School Bands. Donations can be made via credit card on the secure BluePay donation link at www.lnhswildcatband.com. A note should be made in the comments box that the donation is for the SIHS/NIHS Band Assistance Fund. Checks can be made out to “LNHS Band Boosters” and mailed to the LNHS Band Boosters, P.O. Spirit gear: The Cat Shack will be open during Smart Lunch Oct. 28-29 so students can buy school spirit gear for the hometown rival football game against Mooresville High School on Oct. 30. The Cat Shack is normally open Fridays during Smart Lunch, but there will be no classes on Oct. 30 due to a teacher workday.
