Poker Run: The ride will benefit the Never Forget – 9/11 Monument, which will include a piece of steel from the World Trade Center and be located in front of Cornelius Fire Station No. 1, 19729 S. Main St.
Kickstands up at 10 a.m. May 14. $35 per single rider or $45 two-up. No registration necessary; just show up with your fee. The run starts at Cornelius Town Hall, 21445 Catawba Ave., and ends at Mac's Speed Shop, 19601 Liverpool Parkway. Plan on an approximately four-hour ride in Lake Norman area.
NASCAR pets calendar: The Greg Biffle Foundation is holding a fan promotion for the 2017 NASCAR pets calendar. Three winners and their pets, with a charity winner selected by the The NASCAR Foundation, will be shown on one page of the 2017 calendar. Info on how to enter and deadlines is available at www.gregbifflefoundation.com. Proceeds from the calendar benefit the Greg Biffle Foundation, which was founded in 2005 to create awareness and serve as an advocate to improve the well-being of animals by engaging the power and passion of the motor sports industry.
