Volunteer Advocacy Opportunities:
The Senior Center encourages all seniors to join the Senior Round Table meeting held the 1st Monday of every month at 3 p.m. at South Iredell Senior Center. This group’s goal is to help make Mooresville more senior-friendly. A big part of what the group does is to advocate for change. Currently, they are advocating for affordable housing for seniors and improving the Mooresville on Main transportation system. South Iredell Senior Center, 202 N. Iredell Master Gardener Demonstration Garden:
The Iredell Extension Master Gardener Demonstration Garden will be open to the public on the first Saturday of each month through October. Visitors are welcome to tour the garden, see what’s being grown and ask questions of Master Gardeners. The Demonstration Garden features vegetable gardens, fruit trees, plants for shade and sun, a water feature and a children’s garden. Civil War Battle Re-enactment:

Wild on the Water Paddle Event:
North Carolina Wildlife Federation is calling all paddlers to help raise money for wildlife conservation. Check-In will begin at 8:45 a.m. at Mecklenburg County’s Latta Plantation Nature Preserve. The paddle will begin around 9:30 a.m. and conclude around 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided and then we will raffle prizes. Participants may pay a $50 registration fee or raise the funds through donations. All paid registrations include one chance in the raffle drawings. For every $100 raised or donated, another raffle ticket goes in the drawing. Prizes include a kayak from Great Outdoor Provision Co., ENO hammock, REI goodie pack, USNWC passes and more.
