Stop by the gallery at the Cornelius Arts Center, on Oak Street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 30 to view its latest exhibit, “Summer Creates!”

This exhibit provides a view of life and objects as seen through the art and eyes of area children and youth. Works were created by Children's Art Project's summer campers.

The town of Cornelius PARC Department is offering basketball free play for participants age 55 and up.

Registration for the sixth annual 2008 NFL Young Flag Football opens Friday. This nationally affiliated program provides a non-contact, co-ed football opportunity for boys and girls, ages 4-14. Registration ends Aug. 24.

The resident cost is $30 for the 4- and 5 year-old instructional division and $50 for all other divisions. There is an additional $10 fee for all non-residents. Financial assistance for residents is available on a limited basis.

Online registration is available at www.corneliuspr.org. Registration forms will also be accepted at the Cornelius Town Hall, Davidson Parks & Recreation office, or Huntersville Parks & Recreation office.
