Bottom Dollar Food to open in early October
Bottom Dollar Food anticipates opening a new prototype store at East Plaza Drive (N.C. 150) and Rinehardt Road in early October, said Tom Anderson, director of operations for the three-year-old grocery store chain.
Bottom Dollar Food is Food Lion's answer to Aldi's and Wal-Mart, Anderson told town commissioners recently.
The Mooresville store is in a building that formerly housed Southern Family Market. Bottom Dollar features wide aisles, bright décor and a walk-in produce cooler, Anderson said.
All of Bottom Dollar's other stores have opened in former Food Lions, Anderson said. Bottom Dollar has one store each in Hickory, Asheboro and High Point, 10 in the Norfolk, Va., area and 13 in the Washington, D.C., region. Joe Marusak
