Exit 23 The Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Latino Festival from 2 to 5 p.m. next Sunday at Huntersville Elementary School.

Exit 25 The Carolina Renaissance Festival begins Oct. 4. It will be open Saturdays and Sundays through Nov. 16.

Exit 28 The Fresh Market will open its Cornelius store at 9 a.m. Oct. 15 at 20623 Torrence Chapel Road.

Exit 30 The signal light construction at Griffith and Beaty streets in Davidson has been delayed. It is expected to remain in flash mode until Nov. 22.

Exit 33 On Oct. 6, Mooresville commissioners will consider a proposed agreement with Davidson regarding Lake Davidson preservation measures, including whether to ban boats with motors greater than 10 horsepower.

Exit 36 Mooresville is buying a $99,999 trench rescue trailer from Municipal Emergency Services of Charlotte for the Mooresville Fire Department.

Exit 42 The Troutman Town Board has appointed Don Kelly and Jimmy Troutman as alternate members of the town's technical review committee.

Exit 50 The Statesville City Council has awarded a $10,185 contract to the low bidder, Terry Lynn, to demolish the existing structures at 117 Martin Lane, the site of new fire station 4.

West Shore The Denver Days Festival will be Friday and Saturday, off N.C. 16 in Denver. Admission is free, and parking is $10.
