Rock Spring Methodist Camp Meeting

Concerts: These free gospel concerts will be held during the Rock Spring Methodist Campground:

7 p.m. July 30, a "Community Singing" will be held featuring area church choirs, groups, quartets, trios, duets and soloists.

6 p.m. July 31, the Harvesters Quartet will share headline billing with the Rick Webb Family. The Far City Boys, a 2010 Dove Award nominee along with the Pine Ridge Boys and the Heartsound Quartet will complete the five group bill.

Concerts are free. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The Rock Spring Methodist Camp Ground is on Camp Ground Road, half-mile east of N.C. 16 in Denver.

New Faith Community Of Lake Norman

Small Groups: The New Faith Community of Lake Norman: Encouraging Your Search for a Resonant Jesus. A five-week study based on Brian McLaren's book, "A Generous Orthodoxy" will meet at 11 a.m. Sundays and at 6:30 p.m. Mondays. "Living the Questions," a discussion that invites questions and struggles of faith, will meet 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays. The group is ongoing and always open to new participants. Point of Grace Lutheran Church, Cornelius

Engage!: DVD series called "Who Am I? What Am I Doing Here?" Wednesday evening services begin with a meal at 6 p.m. and service at 7 p.m. Engage! will still be a coffee shop atmosphere with coffee for the service and "unplugged" music set and prayer time. The series through Aug. 18 examines the nature and role of man.

Choral Academy auditions: The Choral Academy is scheduling auditions/vocal placement interviews for children and youth (ages 7-20) to participate in three age-based choirs. No preparation is necessary. Rehearsals for fall semester begin on Sept.7. New singers will be accepted through the month of September. All youth in Cabarrus and the surrounding counties are welcome. Each choir meets weekly on Tuesdays through mid-May at Calvary Lutheran Church, 950 Bradley St., Concord, to study and perform a broad range of choral literature selected with age and vocal capabilities in mind. New rabbinic fellow: Deborah Zuker has been named the Legacy Heritage Fund Rabbinic Fellow at Congregation Emanuel. Most recently, she served as the rabbinic intern at Westchester Jewish Center in Mamaroneck, N.Y. . Zuker has an master's degree in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary and an master's of social work from Columbia University with a focus on hospice care.
