Accepting nominations: The deadline to submit nominations for the Jack Burney Community Service Award is Sept. 3. Nominations are accepted at www.ci.davidson.nc.us/burneynomination or in person or by phone at Town Hall.

Update on Knox Road barricade: Mayor Jeff Tarte reports that property owners continue to be supportive of donating road sections so the barricade behind Goodwill Store can be removed. The lenders are working through their process to allow for the release of the property.

B-17 crew members to be honored:

The Charlotte EAA Chapter 309's restored B-17 Flying Fortress "Aluminum Overcast" will be on tour at Concord Regional Airport Oct. 22-24. The organization is looking for B-17 crew members to be honored. Susan Green, 704-920-5915.
