Cornelius

Help navigate: The town of Cornelius is looking for people to serve on one of five committees as part of the "Dream" phase of Navigate Cornelius. Applications are available online or at town hall. Workshops will be Sept. 14-16. The committees are: economic development, placemaking and town services, mobility, community services, leisure and commerce. www.navigatecornelius.org.

Davidson

New faces at town hall: Davidson has hired Megan Pillow Davis, Cheryl Dellinger and Katherine Faust. Davis is the town's first full-time public information officer. She previously was director of The Davidson Center/NewPoint Learning Center and a reporter for The Mooresville Tribune. Faust is a part-time receptionist at Town Hall and the police department. Dellinger was hired in May as the police department's records clerk and receptionist.

Area wide

Competitive sailors: The first Lake Norman Leukemia Cup Regatta will be Oct. 1-2. Silent auction items, donations and volunteers needed. Proceeds to benefit Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Details: outriggeryachtclub.org.
